Prof Saracoglu strained highland honey is sourced from the Sivas / Zara Gürlevik Dağı (Turkiye) region. Thanks to its approximately 1800 meters altitude, it has endemic many plant varieties. Being untouched by agricultural pesticides due to its pristine nature, the region allows for healthy honey production. Our beekeepers monitor the drugs and dosages they use to combat bee diseases and perform residue analyses on the final product to confirm that there are no residues.
Preparation Technique
Honeycombs taken from beehives in the apiary are turned into strained honey in tents set up inside the apiary. The strained honey, filled into cans, is sent to the processing center. After receiving accreditation from the laboratory, the accepted honey is heated up to 40 degrees here and passed through coarse filters to remove honeycomb wax and other particles. The filling process is completed in this state.
